How does Keg Ledger work?
In a Keg Ledger team, there is a single admin and many team members.
What is an admin?
A Keg Ledger admin is the person that created the team and has special privileges including approving actions that the team members do and spending money on behalf of the team.
What is a team member?
A Keg Ledger team member is a person that has been invited by the admn to join the team. They can supply and purchase drinks from Keg Ledger and benefit from the team money.
Each game or training session one or more team members bring cases of beer. They record in Keg Ledger how many cases they have supplied and the admin can confirm it. All the team members can then drink the beer responsibly, with all team members reminding each other to tick each beer up in the app - usually by comically shouting "KEG LEDGER!!!".
Team members can see how many beers they have consumed and how much money they owe the team. When they're ready to pay down some of the debt, the team member pays the money to the admin and enters it into Keg Ledger. The admin confirms it.
Admins can spend the team money on food or activities and register it as a team expense within Keg Ledger. Team members can also do the same, but register it as an expense against themselves and the admin needs to confirm it. All team members can see the current team balance and what the team money has been spent on.
At the end of the season the Admin can spend all the money opn a party, BBQ, race day or weekend away, and tell people in order to join in, they need to have paid up the Keg Ledger bill AND have supplied a minimum number of cases to the team.
It's all about trust?
YES. If your sporting team is made up of people that do not trust each other, then Keg Ledger is not for you. No system short of running your own pub will guarantee that everyone that drinks a beer will pay for it.
